Welcome to Thornaby Church of England Primary School, a community of which we are proud!
Our Christian vision
Walking and learning with faith in the footsteps of Jesus, which comes from the biblical scriptures of ‘And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.’ 2 John 1 v 6; ‘Walk with the wise and become wise.’ Proverbs 13 v 20
Our school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We aim for our school community to be happy, respected, valued and encouraged to develop as individuals who demonstrate both British and Christian Values.
We feel privileged to work alongside a forward-thinking Governing Body and St Mark’s church, the Diocese of York. As a school we are also part of Dales Multi Academy Trust, a collaboration of church schools across Stockton and North Yorkshire.
If you would like to find out what it is like to be a part of our school community, please come and visit us. We would be more than happy to give you a tour of our school and introduce you to the people who make Thornaby C of E Primary school a nurturing and safe place to be.
The school is happy to provide paper copies of all documents and polices free of charge. Please contact our school on 01642 763060

Our Christian vision

At Thornaby Church of England Primary School, we believe it is important to develop core values by which to live and help to develop moral and spiritual awareness. We seek to explore the meanings of the core values and their significance through Collective Worship.
The gifts of truthfulness, friendship, trust, peace, courage perseverance, compassion, service, humility, respect and reverence, responsibility, wisdom, hope, creativity, forgiveness, generosity and justice are the values we want our children to leave with. As a Church of England school, we aim to anchor the values in the Christian faith by relating them to the Bible through stories and readings.
We feel a deep responsibility to nurture and develop core values that can guide our lives and be shared and expressed by everyone, regardless of faith or belief. These guide our school community, helping to form character, spiritual awareness and self-esteem.
As a school we seek to promote reflection about children’s own beliefs and faith and to encourage their own interest in and respect of other religions and faiths.
